However, the current pandemic and forced virtual learning pulled the blanket off and revealed the different various levels of parental involvement in our students' homes as well as some interesting views parents have about their part in their child's education. Join Reba Gordon Matthews as she shares a variety of strategies that can improve teacher-parent interactions and begin to experience a better level of parent engagement. You will also walk away with tools to design a communication plan that values diversity, equity, and inclusion and keeps parents/guardians abreast of their child’s progress and challenges.

Choice boards are effective tools for increasing student autonomy and engagement. Join Matt Bergman as he shares a framework for developing choice boards, an explanation of the various kinds of choice boards, and how they can be used to benefit student learning. Participants will also have an opportunity to create their own multi-column and multi-row task-based choice board that they can immediately use with their students.

Create a multi-column and multi-row task-based choice board to optimize student's voice, choice, and autonomy.

Michelle Dragalin owns her business, “Michelle’s Innovations,” and works online as a freelance writer, educator, presenter, curriculum developer, adjunct professor, and instructional designer. Michelle has her Ed.S in Education, specializing in Educational technology, M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction. She has multiple certifications in ESL, Mild, Moderate, and Severe (cognitive, emotional, mental, physical ) disabilities. She has taught various grades birth through 10th and she started as a paraprofessional in special ed and a home-based Head Start teacher. Michelle and her husband live in the Rocky Mountains near the Wyoming border in Colorado. They have two grown children and rescue Huskies.

Kimberly Munoz is a Career and Technology teacher at College Station High School in College Station (Texas), a former Instructional Technologist for Franklin ISD, and a former Bryan ISD middle school technology teacher. Reba Gordon Matthews is an Educational Consultant with Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt and a Freelance Coach and Instructional Designer creating eLearning and learner experience courses. She has over 20 years of elementary teaching experience and has served as an adjunct instructor for Early Childhood Education courses. She holds a Master's in Educational Technology and a Master's in Instructional Design.

Dr. Samantha Fecich teaches preservice teachers (future teachers) at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. She has the honor and the pleasure of working with them in their courses related to educational technology and special education. Samantha enjoys impacting students that she will never get to meet through the work of her preservice educators. Samantha is also the author of two books designed to support the new and future educator; EduMagic: A Guide for Preservice Teachers, which gives teachers a road map to becoming an educator of excellence during their college career, and EduMagic Shine On: A Guide for New Teachers, which is designed to help a beginning teacher thrive during their first year of teaching.
